Last Chaos Pet Guide
The pet system in Last Chaos is both rewarding and challenging. Pets are useful too. Young pets can boost your attacks, defense, health, and mana while fully grown pets can become powerful mounts. While these pets can be acquired easily, getting them to the level of a mount can be a long but rewarding process.
There are currently two available pets: the Horse and the Dragon. Both pets have access to the same pet skills until they are mounts. At this point, they will obtain different and unique skills, so it is important to consider which pet to raise. The Horse has more defensive skills when trained to become a mount, while the Dragon's mount skills are far more offensive.
An equipped pet will have its own GUI. The pet GUI will appear next to your character's GUI on the top left Last Chaos Pet User Interface and Menu of the screen. The pet GUI will have the current pet's level, evolution, health, and hunger. You will also notice a small yellow arrow. Clicking on this will open up the pet's information menu.
Switch between your pet's commands and skills.
Current skills will be shown here. Left-clicking and hovering over a skill icon will tell you more about the selected skill.
1. Pet Evolution Level
2. Pet Current Health (vital points). Feed by herbs.
3. Pet's Hunger Level - the lower the number, the hungrier
the pet. Feed by stones
4. Pet's Current Experience/Experience needed to reach the next level
5. Pet's Current Sympathy (Empathy) Towards Your Character
6.Technical points awarded each time the pet gains a level. These points are used to acquire pet skills, from the animal trainer.
To get a pet
You can buy pets from other players for varying amounts of gold, though it is usually expensve and well out of the affordable range of newer players. All pets start off as a quest item that you will need in order toget the required pet quest that will unlock a pet. For a Horse, you will need a "Pan Flute" and for a Dragon, you will need a "Drage Egg". Both of these drop from mobs. Of course, you can buy these pet quest items from other players, but they are not a particularly rare drop and you may want to invest your gold elsewhere.
Once you have acquired a pet quest item (Pan Flute or Drake Egg) you will get an automatic quest pop up for the pet related quest. Clicking on this pop up and accepting the quest is the first step toward owning a pet. The first part of the quest is to talk to Lorraine in Randol Town (you can easily locate Lorraine using theLast Chaos Pet Acquisition in-game map). Lorraine will then tell you to go see Archaeologist Jajan in Dratan (you can get to Dratan by talking to the town teleporter NPC and selecting Dratan). Once you have located Archaeologist Jajan, talking to him will complete the quest. You will now find either a Level 1 Pony (Pan Flute) or a Level 1 Hatchling (Drake Egg) in your inventory. To equip your pet, double click the pet icon in your inventory or click and drag the icon to an empty accessory slot. You can un-equip the pet in the same way or you can drag the pet icon to an empty quick slot to make equipping and un-equipping easier. Remember to feed your newly acquired pet right away. When the vital power (red Bar) reaches 0, your pet dies.
You may only ever have two pets at any one time. They can be different or the same type of pet. You can have as many pet quest items as your character can carry in your inventory. Pet quest items can also be stored in your storage box. Pets, however, cannot be placed in storage at the Storekeeper Bianca.
One of the most important things about a pet is its experience and abilitiy to grow, develop, and level. A pet gains experience only when it is equipped. It cannot gain experience simply by being in a player's inventory. An equipped pet will gain experience when your character is in combat. For roughly every 2-4 hits against a foe, the equipped pet will gain 1 experience point. When your pet has gained the required amount ofLast Chaos Pet Experience and Leveling experience, the pet will gain a level and receive 1 technical point. You can see how much experience is required for your pet to level in the Pet Menu. Experience will be showsn as "current experience/experience required". You will also be able to see any unspent technical points in the pet menu.
Technical points are used to purchase skills for your pet. To purchase pet skills, you will need to talk to the Animal Trainer NPC in Randol or Dratan. Talking to the Animal Trainer will present you with a menu of pet actions. If you want to buy pet skills, select the "Pet Training" option. From here you will be able to use technical points to purchase pet skills (social skills or "commands" do not require technical points as they are completely free to unlock.

Once a pet has been trained to become a mount, it will no longer gain experience. A pet that has died or become sealed cannot gain experience until it is unsealed. If you have allowed your pet to starve and it is refusing to move, it will not gain experience either. Pets will not gain experience if the enemy's name is blue (of a lower level than your character). The enemy must have a green, white, orange, or red name for your pet to gain experience from your combat.
If you pet has been killed, you may note that trying to equip the dead pet will give you a message on the left side above chat box saying something like " your pet will recover in 12 hours, 00 minutes." This is 12 hours of real time in combat. So if you are really broke you can do 12 hours of combat to unseal your pet. If you try to fight for 6 hours figuring you only will pay half the price to unseal or revive your pet, you will find that you still pay full price.
