Make your own Signature in Photoshop

11 Aug in photoshop
Heres a full sig tutorial with how i make mine.

First start off with a black background.

Then pick some brushes and brush over the black, with white, but not to much, and use different brushes from that set. I used HGFX set 27 (idk where to get em, go to deviant Art and look >.>)

Then go to gamerenders.com and click search, then look for a picture you want. Im gonna use one from Marc Ecko's Getting Up.

Copy and paste the picture in the sig space, and press the resize button (the one in the picture ^) then change the px to % like this:

Select the background (the grey part) and then use the lasso tool to get any parts of the picture that get selected that you want to keep. The go to select>grow, and grow by 1. Then go to select>feather by 5px. then delete with crtl+x.

I use the color from the picture, so get the dropper and select one of the colors from the picture. I used the top of his hood, and his face. Bright colors dont seem to work for me though.

Now make a new layer, and use one of the colors on the new layer with the paint bucket. Then change the color layer's mode to overlay:

If you need to make it more colored just duplicate that layer again. Now, hide (press the eye beside the layer) all your layers but the background and your color layers. Right click any layer and click Merge Visible Layers. It should look something like this by now:

Now, unhide your render. You can leave it like that, or you can do what i did here. Change the renders mode to overlay, the dupliacte it 3 times. So you should have 4 layers of the render. Change the bottom 3 to overlay, and the top one to screen.

Now, you can merge visible layers, or not (i dont). For the text, go to Filters>Text>FreeType. Make sure the color you want your text to be is selected and is the foreground color. Now write your text in the field, and select the font you want, and change the size.

Then hit Ok.

You should now have a layer with whatever you wrote on it. Use the move tool (press M) to move it to where you want. I have white text, so this part works here, may not for other colors. Change the text layer to Overlay, then duplicate it a few times. Then right click one of the text layers and hit Alpha to Selection.

Now make a new layer. Make your foreground color black. Then right click the sig space, and go to stroke selection. Set the size to 1, and hit ok. Now move that layer to the top of your layers. Change the mode to overlay. Now duplicate that layer a few times, till it looks good.

Now for a border. Click your sig space, and hit ctrl+A to select all. Then right click and stroke selection, but with a size of 2 thi time. Thats a simple border. A more complicated one, but much cooler:

Use the magic wand tool (press Z) and select the inside of the layer with the border you just did. Go to select>shrink, and shrink by 2. Stroke the selection again, but by 1. Select the space between the 2 strokes with the wand and make a new layer. Hit ctrl+T to remove the selection lines. It should be near this:

On your new layer, fill the area selected with black, and brush over with white with more brushes. Like another sig. Then basicly repeat the thing like you were making a new sig.But try not to make the color the same as the sigs color, slightly darker or lighter is good. When your done with that, press ctrl+t again to see the selection lines, then deselect. Save, and your done ^_^

Heres the final result:

Actually came out better then i thought!
