The Life Of Jones Anderson

         By: Diana Firstova

There was a man named Jones Anderson. He had an inept talent that everyone appreciated.

He could actually domesticate wild tigers and lions for about 1 hour. Then it would be back to its normal self. One day, somebody, who owned a lot of territory, asked Jones to perform his talent on his land. Jones agreed. He started to feel all ecstatic, as he always does. "Meet me here tomorrow afternoon to meet the lion." the man said. He started to walk away as Jones watched him. Jones started to walk back home but decided to stop by the store to pick up some bran for beneficial fiber. When he finished getting everything, he went back home.

When he got home, he thought about everything that happened. Time passed as he realized that he’d fallen asleep. He felt very ravenous because he had slept through dinner. Jones quickly glanced at the clock and saw that it was almost time to meet the man and the lion. He quickly dressed casually, ate, and left.

While walking, he got a little annoyed with the constant saying, “Are you really going to do it?” or “Are you scared?” Of course he said, “I’m going to do it with bravery.” When he finally got to the man, he stood there next to the cage shrouded with cloth. As the man took it off, Jones’s ecstasy quickly disappeared. He stood there motionless. He’d never seen a lion so large and ferocious. Most of the lions and tigers he’d worked with were a bit tranquil. But this one was not. Jones knew that if he wanted to domesticate it, he would have to practice a lot more. The man just looked at him and gave him this sneaky smile. “You will tame it 3 days from now”, he said. “Just make sure that you can actually do it.” The man shot him that smile again, put the lion in the truck, and left. Now Jones was scared. He didn’t know if he should do it on his large expanse. Jones just started to walk home.

He finally got home and thought where he should practice. He could go to the local zoo. No, no, he had already practiced there and they were a little easy. Then he hatched an idea. He could go on an expedition to Greece and walk all the way through the Middle East to northern India. Lions are almost always found there but are not so aggressive. Jones went to the airport, found a plane that goes there, and went on; luckily, it was just about to leave.

Hours passed when he got off in Greece. With some medical aids behind him, he started his expedition. 45 minutes passed when he spotted the first lion. He was alone. Jones walked towards it like nothing was there. He yelled something, grabbed one of its ears, and stabbed his fingers in to its legs sweet spot. It didn’t work. He did it again dodging its large claws and razor sharp teeth. It worked. He now knew that if he wants to domesticate that lion, he must have cheetah reflexes. The lion was now laying calmly licking its paws. Jones knew he should hurry or else it would start being aggressive again and try to attack him. The medical aids just followed him. As a couple minutes passed, Jones spotted another lion. This time it was with his family. He just walked away. He couldn’t bring himself to touch a lion with a family nearby.

10 minutes later, Jones heard growling. He knew a lion was trying to sneak up on him. He had to do his special defense. He started running away but the medical aid staying in his place. The lion started running after him. Jones quickly pretended to fall as the lion was just about to pounce on him. Then Jones just started to do the same thing. He yelled, grabbed the lion by one ear, and dug his fingers in to its legs sweet spot. This time, it worked on the first try. He signaled his aid to follow him again and they went on.

He kept on practicing until he got really good. As he was walking, it started to rain. Jones started running to a nearby cave or large tree. He found a shed that was perfect to sheathe him from the rain. He slept there with his aid. When he woke up, he decided it was enough. He only had 2 more days and he should use it to just relax. He ran back to the airport and got on. He ate some lunch on the plane and then fell asleep.

He woke up just in time to get off. He went home and realized it was almost time to go to bed. He just went and lay in bed while reading a book. He was still a little dizzy from everything, including the plane ride home, so he fell asleep. The next morning, he ate breakfast and dressed in his finest apparel. He went and just walked around. Jones walked around for so long that it was almost 6:00 when he only left at about 12:30. So he just went to a restaurant for dinner.

He went to a couple of shops after dinner and just walked around. Then he decided to just go back to his house. When he got back home he didn’t want to do anything but relax. He tried to soothe himself by going to his hot tub and just stay there for a while. After a while, he got ready for bed and then fell asleep. The next morning he got dressed in his most casual clothes and went to go meet the man for his act. He just thought that he could do it and was trying to be all positive. When he finally got there, he saw the man and the cage, but not the lion in the cage. Jones went over and talked to the man. He told him to go on the highest point on his land and just wait there. So Jones did. As he was waiting, he saw the lion emerging from the corner of his eye. Jones felt confident. He knew that he could do it. The lion slowly crept closer and closer. Jones started to walk towards him but the lion just growled and started to run towards him. Now Jones felt scared. He was on pretty high land and if he pretended to fall, the lion could just pounce right on him. So Jones started to run towards him too. Jones was so astonished when he realized that he’d jumped over the lion. He ran towards it and grabbed its ear with all his might, yelled, and dug his fingers in to its legs sweet spot with all of his strength. He had never been so happy and exhausted in all of his life. He looked over at the lion, calmly sitting down licking its ear. Jones walked away with the crowd just cheering their lungs out. He just smiled.

Months passed when Jones got invited to another very important expedition. Sadly, when he was on the plane, it crashed in to the water and his body was never found. His name was inscribed on to a plaque for one of the most remembered people in the world. And he sure was remembered.
