How to ride a horse

02 Jan in horses

First lets talk about the steps of walking, trotting, cantering, galloping, and to slow down. First do the walk by very very gently squeeze your leg to the horses sides, then your legs should be relaxed. To ask a horse to trot, squeeze gently with your lower legs. The pressure you do to make a horse trot should be greater than making a horse walk so then you might need to do a gentle kick with your heels. To ask a horse to canter you have to move your legs back slightly and thens squeeze you legs not to hard. If the horse does not listen then you either need more practice or gently kick the horses sides while doing the steps. To ask a horse to gallop you must rise your seat slightly out of the saddle, putting your weight to your heels. Before doing the gallop you must be able to control 100% and be able to ride all the other gaits in ballance. To slow down your horse you need pull back the reins. Happy riding!
